Meet the Doctors
Dr. Jason Crosby
Orthopedic Surgeon in practice since 2009. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dr. Crosby completed his undergraduate medical education and Orthopedic residency training at the University of Manitoba in 2007. Sub-specialty training in Sports Orthopedics of hip, knee and shoulder was completed at the University of British Columbia in 2007 - 2008. Reconstructive hip and knee arthroplasty at Norwich and Norfolk Hospital, Norwich, England, and Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia from 2008 - 2009.
Dr. Al Walid Hamam:
Orthopedic Surgeon in Practice since June 2014. After completing Medical school at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Hamam came to Winnipeg to specialize in Orthopedic surgery from 2007-2012. Further sub-specialty training in Joint Arthroplasty and Foot/Ankle surgery was completed at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, ON and at Victoria Hospital in London, ON respectively from 2012-2014.
Dr. James Vernon
Orthopedic Surgeon in practice since 2013. Completed undergraduate and Master's degrees at Queen's University in Kingston, ON, then medical school in Sydney, Australia. Completed Orthopedic residency training at the University of Manitoba in 2011. Sub-specialty training in complex lower extremity joint replacement surgery in both Dunedin, New Zealand and at Concordia Hospital from 2011 - 2013.
Dr. David Ames
Orthopedics Surgeon in practice since 2016. Medical school at University of Manitoba. Triple Fellowship trained in lower extremity arthroplasty and reconstruction, trauma as well as foot & ankle from 2014-2016.
Dr. David Dillon
Dr. Dillon has spent his entire life and career in Winnipeg. He completed his undergraduate bachelor of science degree at the University of Manitoba (’94) and then followed that with both his MD (’98) and FRCS (’03). After finishing his orthopedic residency, he completed a fellowship year divided between joint replacement surgery and sports medicine. His areas of interest are in primary hip and knee replacement surgery, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Dillon has been in practice since 2005, dividing time between Grace General Hospital and the Pan Am Clinic.
Dr. James Longstaffe
Orthopedic Surgeon in practice since 2015. Completed his undergraduate and Medical school at the University of Manitoba. Followed by Orthopedic surgical residency at the University of Manitoba. Fellowship training in shoulder, hip and knee arthroscopy was completed at the University of British Columbia in 2013 - 2014. Special interest in shoulder, hip and knee arthroscopy, as well as sports medicine team coverage working with both amateur and professional athletes.
